    A story about four teddy bears that are each afraid of the dark.  The little boy attempts to make each of them feel better about the dark and allows them to sleep in his bed.

    The Bear family goes on a hunt to find a pumpkin and get into some mischief of their own.  

Berenstain, Stan. The Big Honey Hunt. Random House. 2000.

Blackstone, Stella.  Bear in Sunshine. Barefoot Books. 2001.
    Bear likes to play in the spring, winter, rain, snow, thunderstorms, inside, and outside.

Bond, Michael. Paddington Bear.  Harper Collins. 1998.
    This book is about a little bear that gets taken in by the Brown family.  They take care of Paddington Bear as he tries to fit in as a real person.  

Freeman, Don. Corduroy. Viking Press. 1998.
    There are two stories in this book, Corduroy and A Pocket for Corduroy.  Corduroy gets bought from a department store by Lisa who takes him home and takes care of him.  All the while he gets himself into trouble.  

Gains, Isable. Pooh Gets Stuck. Disney Enterprises.
    Winnie eats too much honey and gets stuck in Rabbit’s hole.  The gang keeps him company while a day passes and he looses all the “honey” weight and can if through the hole.  
 
Gipson, Morrell. Mr. Bear Squash- You- All- Flat. Wonder Books Inc. 1950.
    Mr. Bear has no one to play with because he likes to play too rough and the other little woods animals are afraid of him.  He learns to play nicer and keep his friends.

Haseley, Dennis. A Story for Bear. Harcourt Inc. 2002.
    A bear finds a book and takes it to animal friends to see if they can read it to him.  H eventually finds the lady that is writing the story and she reads it to him.

Landa, Norbert.  Little Bear’s Christmas. Little Tiger Press. 1999.
    A little bear finds out about Christmas and Santa.  He wants to stay awake all winter to see him and the snow.  He gets stranded outside the cave and Santa finds him and takes him to deliver all the presents to the boys and girls.

    Ten short stories about little brown bear and his adventures.  

Waddell, Martin.  Let’s Go Home, Little Bear.  Candlewick Press. 1991.
    Little Bear gets scared by all the noises in the woods.  His Pappa tells him stories to comfort him, but they both end up falling asleep in the middle of one of pappa’s stories.

Pullman, Philip.  The Amber Spyglass.  2003.
    A science fiction, trilogy series.  Will and Laura fight danger and assins with the help of an armored bear.  Meanwhile, Dr. Lord Asriel tries to build the Amber Spyglass.  
 
Taylor, Theodore. The Weirdo. HBJ Pub. 1991.
    A seventeen year old boy, Chip Clewt, fights to save the brown bears in a wild life refugee.  The wildlife is going to be destroyed by hunters and Chip tries to save the bears.

Marshall, James.  Goldilocks and The Three Bears.  Dial Books.  1988.
    Caldecott Honor Book, 1989.  An updated version of the classic story.

INFORMATIONAL

Rosenthal, Mark.  Bears. Children’s Press.  1983.
    Tells all about bears, how they eat, where they live, how big they are, etc.

Young, Robert.  Teddy Bears.  Dillon Press.  1992.
    Tell how they make teddy bears, the anniversary of the teddy bear, and how they became invented.  It also has a timeline of the history of the teddy bear.

    The
story of the creator of Winnie the Pooh.  It tells how he came up with the names and the characters.  There is also a map of the Hundred Acre Woods.

    The life story of the creator of Winnie the Pooh.  there is a timeline of his life and the creation of Winnie the Pooh.
