'Tricia Ann's dress and hat are the brightest colors in the picture.  The background colors of the bus are drab and the colors of the adults clothes are not nearly as colorful.  'Tricia Ann's brightly colored dress appears on every page of the story and creates a focal point on each page.  This story is about 'Tricia Ann's trip to someplace special all by  herself and her bright, beautiful dress in a troubled world causes the reader to focus on her joy and excitement at each stage of her journey.
