SERPENTS
Serpents possess magical powers in many cultures. An Amphisbaena is
a serpent with two heads, one at each end of its body, each with
glowing eyes.  Wearing a live amphisbaena will protect a pregnant
woman and wearing a dead one is a cure for rheumatism.  Quetzalcoatl
was the plumed serpent god of the Toltecs and Aztecs who taught the
people writing, painting, agriculture, and metal working.
