A snow white horse like creature with a single horn growing from the 
middle of its head.  This horn can clarify polluted water, make drunks 
sober, cure fits, fevers and plague, and can counteract the effect of 
many poisons. Only maidens can tame unicorns.  Asian unicorns, named 
kirin in Japan and k'i-lin in China, are vicious, mean, and foul tempered.
