Mid-America Guitar Ensemble Festival

Out of an abundance of caution amid the spread of COVID-19, the Mid-America Guitar Ensemble Festival, featuring the Canadian Guitar Quartet, has been canceled. If you have already purchased tickets, your refund will be processed within 3-5 business days. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

This year’s event was to be held on the Elmhurst University campus March 27-29, 2020, in Elmhurst, Ill., just west of Chicago.

About the Festival

The Mid-America Guitar Ensemble Festival is an annual event hosted by different colleges and universities throughout the region. It was established in 1991 to foster camaraderie and pedagogical exchanges between classical guitar teachers and students; to provide performance and learning opportunities for student ensembles; and to contribute to the overall artistic and cultural enrichment of classical guitar ensemble audiences.

The festival also has worked to increase the ensemble repertoire by commissioning pieces for the festival orchestra. The first festival was hosted by Millikin University in Decatur, IL, and since has been sponsored by schools in Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Michigan and Minnesota.
