Programs of Study

Elmhurst’s criminal justice program offers a social-scientific approach to the criminal justice system within the context of a liberal arts curriculum.

The major combines courses in criminal justice with related courses in sociology, as well as recommended electives in political science, philosophy, psychology, communications and computer science.

In this program, students learn about the nature and causes of crime, as well as the structures and processes by which society responds to criminal behavior, including law enforcement, the courts, corrections and criminal law.
