Donna Peterson Tallman teaches conducting and directs the Women’s Chorus at Elmhurst. She teaches private voice lessons at Willowbrook High School, prepares the pit orchestra for William Fremd High School’s fall musical and is the director of choral music at LaGrange Bible Church.
Tallman received her master of music degree from Northwestern University and her bachelor of science degree in music education from the University of Illinois. She has held faculty positions in choral music education at Northern Illinois University and was director of music education at Illinois Benedictine College. She also taught choral and instrumental music in the public schools of Oak Lawn, Illinois.
Since 1981, she has been camp manager for Showchoir Camps of America and has adjudicated high school and middle school choral festivals and competitions throughout the United States and Mexico. Tallman is a life member of the American Choral Directors Association and has been the Repertoire and Standards Chairperson for Show Choir and Community Choirs for the Illinois Choral Directors Association.
She is active in the Music Educators National Conference, the Illinois Music Educators Association and Choristers Guild.
