Master of Public Health Program Director Molly Tran discussed the wide variety in public health-focused careers during the webinar “More than Epidemiology: the Many Facets of Public Health,” recorded on March 8, 2022.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that 26 million new health care positions will be created by 2030. Below is just a sampling of professions that require a strong background in public health.

Admission Requirements

  • Completion of a basic statistics course, earning a grade of ‘C’ or better. This is a prerequisite for several courses within the program.

Graduates from Elmhurst’s Master Public Health program qualify to apply for the MBA Dual Degree Option. This one-year program culminates in an MBA with a specialization in public health.

Accreditation Status

Elmhurst University is an applicant for accreditation by the Council on Education for Public Health. Learn more about the CEPH on its website. The accreditation review will only address the baccalaureate and master’s programs in public health.

No. We welcome students with a wide variety of undergraduate degrees into the MPH program.

Completion of a basic statistics course, earning a grade of ‘C’ or better. This is a prerequisite for several courses within the program.

It is 100% online. Classes are generally asynchronous but there are some synchronous sessions.

The program may be completed in a full two years of part-time study.

Our alumni work in a variety of rewarding careers in community health and environmental health.

Students complete an applied learning experience in a public health setting of their choosing and produce a publishable capstone paper based on a scholarly project they undertake during that experience.
