Rebecca Goetz Clancy has been an adjunct faculty member of the Department of Religious Studies for nearly twenty years, teaching mainly in the area of Bible. Her chief area of interest is the Old Testament but also has expertise in New Testament and Patristic Period. She is the pastor of First Congregational Church of Geneva, United Church of Christ, which has hosted a great number of Elmhurst College student interns through the Niebuhr Center and the Center for Professional Excellence. As the literary executor for her late father, Dr. Ronald Goetz, she is the editor of his final book, “Clear and Definite Words” and creator of the website www.RonaldGoetz.com which showcases his major scholarly works. Rebecca received a B.A. in Religion from Smith College, and an M.A. and M.Div. from Chicago Theological Seminary. She regularly teaches REL 200 Introduction to Biblical Studies.
