Law School Application Timeline

Planning to apply to law school? Here’s a timeline to help you stay on track.

Junior Year, Spring Term

• Meet with the pre-law advisor to discuss application plan
• Register with the Law School Admission Council (LSAC)
• Take LSAT prep course

Junior Year, Summer

• Take the LSAT (or wait until September)

Senior Year, Early Fall

• Take the September LSAT, if necessary
• Ask faculty for recommendation letters
• Write personal statement
• Order transcripts
• Finalize list of law schools to apply to

Senior Year, Late Fall

• Complete and send applications

Senior Year, Winter/Spring

• Receive admission decisions
