April 25, 2022, Task Force Update

April 25, 2022 | by the Elmhurst University COVID-19 Task Force

Dear Elmhurst University Community:

In the last seven days, we have had 12 reported positive cases of COVID-19. The reported positive cases do not warrant a change in any of our COVID-19 policies. However, we do want to remind the campus community of the following best practices.

  1. Even though masks are optional, Elmhurst University encourages students, faculty, and staff to wear masks if that makes them more comfortable. Our values of community and responsibility require that we treat each other with grace, respect, and civility, whether or not someone chooses to wear a mask.
  2. It is incumbent upon all of us that we continue to monitor our symptoms daily and take precautions (stay home, get tested, wear a mask, etc.) if COVID-19 symptoms are present.
  3. The COVID-19 Task Force will continue to offer rapid tests on a walk-in basis on Tuesdays from noon–1:00 p.m. in the Faganel Hall lobby.
  4. PCR tests will be available on Wednesdays from 12 noon – 1:00 p.m. in the Faganel Hall lobby, with registration required 24 hours in advance.
  5. Second Boosters are available to individuals who are immunocompromised and individuals over the age of 50 who received the initial booster dose at least four months ago. To sign up for a second booster, check with your local pharmacy or go to the Edward-Elmhurst Health COVID-19 vaccine scheduling page.

Thank you for your patience, understanding and dedication over the past two years of the pandemic. We are optimistic as the spring semester continues.

Bluejay Proud!
