March 22, 2022, Task Force Update

March 22, 2022 | by the Elmhurst University COVID-19 Task Force

Dear Elmhurst University Community:

A brief message to provide a quick update on COVID-19 related matters.

  1. Masks are now optional. However, Elmhurst University encourages students, faculty, and staff to wear masks if that makes them more comfortable. Our values of community and responsibility require that we treat each other with grace, respect, and civility, whether or not someone chooses to wear a mask.
  2. It is incumbent upon all of us that we continue to monitor our symptoms daily and take precautions (stay home, get tested, wear a mask, etc.) if COVID-19 symptoms are present.
  3. Testing is now optional. The COVID-19 Task Force will continue to offer rapid tests on a walk-in basis on Tuesdays from noon–1:00 p.m. in the Faganel Hall lobby. PCR tests will be available on Wednesdays from noon–1:00 p.m. in the Faganel Hall lobby, with registration required 24 hours in advance.
  4. We will continue to monitor governmental and public health guidelines, along with current messages from the scientific community. If there is a shift in COVID-19 indicators that requires action, our campus community should remain prepared to re-implement mitigation strategies to reduce the potential for transmission.
  5. We have had three reported positive cases for the month of March.

Thank you for your patience, understanding and dedication over the past two years of the pandemic. We are optimistic as the spring semester continues.

Bluejay Proud!
