Commencement
Commencement is one of the most meaningful and highly anticipated events of the year, not only for our graduating seniors but for our entire Elmhurst University community.
Following last year’s success, Elmhurst University is pleased to announce that we will be returning to the Rosemont Theatre for another memorable celebration. The 155th Commencement Ceremony will take place on Friday, May 22, 2026.
Further details regarding the ceremony will be shared soon.

The Graduate Gazette – Spring Commencement Newsletter
We’re excited to introduce the EU Graduate Gazette, a new email publication created by the Commencement staff. This newsletter will provide graduates with important updates and reminders as they prepare for Commencement this Spring.
Graduates will receive the first issue in December. We encourage you to share the EU Graduate Gazette with your family and friends. Each issue will also be posted on this website as it becomes available.
Graduation Application & Ceremony Reminders
This pertains to all eligible graduates who have NOT applied for graduation. Those who have applied will be receiving updates from [email protected]. If you applied but have not received commencement information, please email [email protected]. (Communications begin after the Fall term)
If you plan to graduate this Fall 2025 or the upcoming Spring or Summer 2026 terms, you must apply for graduation through your Self-Service account by the deadline, October 1, 2025.
How to Apply for Graduation
All degree-seeking students must apply for graduation. It is strongly suggested that students planning to graduate in Spring of 2026 apply as soon as possible.
- Log into Self-Service via the myElmhurst Portal
- Choose Academics
- Select Graduation Overview
- Click the link to apply and fill out your information

It is crucial that you apply for graduation regardless of whether or not you intend to walk in the ceremony. Applying for graduation ensures that your degree will be posted on time and that you have met all outstanding degree requirements.
Guest Tickets
Tassel is used to coordinate our Commencement ceremonies, as well as guest tickets. They are only issued to those who have purchased their regalia (cap and gown).
Information regarding Regalia purchase, guest tickets and Tassel will be announced soon.
