Elmhurst University will observe Breast Cancer Awareness Month by coming together for Real Bluejays Wear Pink. Through a variety of events and activities, we’ll raise awareness and funds to help fight a disease that has touched all our lives.

A Message from President VanAken

The American Cancer Society has given me the privilege of being one of about 20 executives and leaders in DuPage County who are calling attention to the role of men in the fight against breast cancer, through the Real Men Wear Pink initiative. We‘re caregivers, sons, fathers, brothers and husbands, but also patients—2,500 men per year will be diagnosed with this disease.

The Real Men Wear Pink initiative runs for the entire month of October. I am fortunate to be joined by Vice President for Student Affairs Phil Riordan, a cancer survivor, and the entire Elmhurst University community in a parallel effort to raise awareness on campus through our own Real Bluejays Wear Pink campaign.

Please consider donating to this worthy cause.

Best,
Troy D. VanAken, Ph.D.
President of Elmhurst University
