Ashauer came to work in health professions advising after developing a strong background in student development. She advises students in addition to coordinating programs and activities. She also implements the recommendation committee process, helps students understand the procedure for applying to professional schools, assists students with personal statement and resume writing, and conducts mock interviews. She is a member of the National Association of Advisors to the Health Professions.
