We are pleased to announce the inaugural Graduate Student Scholarship Competition to recognize graduate students who have worked hard and demonstrated outstanding leadership in a variety of ways.

Football legend Vince Lombardi once said, “Leaders are made, they are not born. They are made by hard effort, which is the price which all of us must pay to achieve any goal that is worthwhile.”

Format

Students who are applying to a degree-seeking master’s program with an undergraduate cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above, are invited to participate in the two-part competition.

The scholarship competition consists of two rounds:

Round 1: Application and Video, Due June 1, 2020

  • Step 1: Submit a completed application to your graduate program of interest.
  • Step 2: Record and submit a video (2–3 minutes) demonstrating the hard work you have put into your career, explaining how you are a leader in your daily life and telling us what receiving this scholarship will mean to you.

Round 2: Interview

By June 15 all videos will be reviewed and the top three submissions will be contacted for a group interview.

  • First place: One winner will receive a $5,000 renewable scholarship for up to two years of study at Elmhurst.
  • All students: Each contest participant who submits an application and video will receive a $500 renewable scholarship for up to two years of study at Elmhurst.
