Ali Ghane, MSEE, MSBE

Ali Ghane joined Elmhurst College as an assistant director for academic computing in 1996, and a year later, he joined the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems as a full time faculty member.
He earned a master of science in bioengineering from University of Illinois at Chicago, a master of science in electrical engineering from Northern Illinois University, and a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.
Mr. Ghane has focused his research in the area of blind adaptive filtering, voice recognition, digital signal processing, and computer networks. Prior to joining Elmhurst College, he worked as research specialist at University of Illinois at Rockford, College of Medicine.
FacultyDean Jensen, Ed.D., MBA
Director of Infrastructure and Web Applications
Dr. Jensen joined the Elmhurst faculty part-time in 2002 while serving as the vice president for technology at Synergistic Networks, Inc. where he managed the concurrent activities of multiple project teams dedicated to the design and development of client-focused Web applications, as well as overseeing the operation of the company’s Internet data center.
At Elmhurst, Dr. Jensen serves a dual role as an administrator in the College’s Office of Information Services. As the web application and information specialist for the College, he is responsible for creating and maintaining the internally focused web-based communication channels through which information developed by Elmhurst’s institutional research efforts and other means are disseminated on campus.
Dr. Jensen earned a BS in information systems and an MS in computer network systems from Elmhurst College. In addition, he earned an MBA in management information systems and an Ed.D. in higher education and organizational change from Benedictine University. His current research interests focus on the use of social technologies in establishing and strengthening virtual communities among the creative sectors of Chicago.
Jennifer North, BS, MBA
Ms. North is an adjunct professor teaching Organizational Behavior for the MCIS graduate program during the J-term session. She has been teaching in the graduate program since 2000. Ms. North brings more than 18 years of experience in the field of learning and development, with roles focusing on sales management and sales effectiveness.
Ms. North began her career in sales with Wallace Computer Services and then with Waste Management. Jennifer then transitioned into learning and development, working with Alaris Consulting as manager of the company's Training and Development department and then with Waste Management as a manager within the Learning and Development organization.
She holds a bachelor of science degree in business management from Northern Illinois University with a focus in marketing; an MBA and a master of science degree in management and organizational behavior from Benedictine University. Ms. North is employed by Waste Management as the manager of sales training and development.
