Elmhurst University students who are interested in becoming a military officer may do so through our Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) crosstown partnerships with the Army.
Eligible students who enroll in the ROTC program will complete their education at Elmhurst University while conducting their military training at Wheaton College. This is a valuable experience that provides leadership training that prepares full-time, enrolled students for service opportunities in the Army.
The ROTC is a national program designed to train students to become future officers in the United States Army. Cadets may go on to serve as active duty, reserve or National Guard officers in combat arm, combat support, combat service support and special branches such as Army Nurse Corps, Judge Advocate General Corps and the Chaplain Corps.
The Rolling Thunder Battalion (RTB) is consistently ranked nationally in the top 10% amongst all Army ROTC programs and has a rich history stemming back to 1952 when it was established.
