Dianne Chambers currently teaches Honors courses and courses in American literature, film studies, women writers, and fiction. She also works closely with students who are training to become English teachers and teaches the methods class in English every year. She has received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Illinois Teachers of English and the President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching at Elmhurst College.

Chambers has published on second-career teachers and teaching leadership through collaboration. She has also published on female roles and national identity. Her book, Feminist Readings of Edith Wharton, was published by Palgrave Macmillan. She has presented on a number of topics including Chicago women’s clubs, the challenges and triumphs of new teachers, and teaching literary theory in high school.
