Dr. Bryant joins the Elmhurst Department of Kinesiology as the first full-time faculty member dedicated to the growing Sport Management major. With several years of academic teaching and program development experience, he spent many years prior working in athletics as a coach and administrator at the collegiate level with additional leadership provided to high school and club sports programs. He has developed and taught several sport-related courses including content emphasis associated with core curriculum in addition to diversity and inclusion, leadership, the intersection of sports and education, as well as examining societal and cultural perspectives such as a study abroad opportunity to Australia. Dr. Bryant’s research and scholarship interests include diversity and inclusion in sport, coaching leadership, the student-athlete experience as well as sport development and accessibility. He was previously selected as a service-learning faculty fellow and has been invited to present on various diversity and inclusion topics at academic conferences, sport association national meetings, and among various campus stakeholder groups.
