Alumni Merit Awards
The Alumni Merit Awards were established in 1962 by the Alumni Association of Elmhurst University. These awards serve as a means of recognizing three outstanding undergraduate or graduate alumni who provide excellent contributions to society and the University.
Award Categories
- Distinguished Service to Society: awarded to alumna or alumnus who demonstrates, the mission of the University through excellence in a field of service—in society, in the marketplace, as a professional, or in an extraordinary leadership role. This honor will be awarded during the Fall Term.
- Distinguished Service to Alma Mater: awarded to the alumna or alumnus who demonstrates dedicated volunteerism through service to the campus community, and whose efforts have impacted positively an aspect of the University and its students and/or alumni. This honor will be awarded during the Fall Term.
- Distinguished Young Alumni Award: awarded to a young alumna or alumnus (age 22-32) for outstanding achievement in community service, career accomplishments and/or loyalty to the University. This honor will be awarded during the Fall Term.
- Distinguished Graduate Alumni Award: awarded to an alumna or alumnus of a graduate program for outstanding achievement in community service, career accomplishments and/or loyalty to the University. This honor will be awarded during the New Graduate Student Reception.
