Whether your focus is on theatre arts, dance or simply to develop communication skills, you can practice what you’re learning—while you’re learning it.
At Elmhurst, you’ll find plenty of opportunities for hands-on experience, on stage or behind the scenes. Some examples include:
- Stage management, providing leadership skill development
- Hands-on production work in lighting, scenic construction and costume construction
- Designing or directing full-length college theatre productions
- Choreographing dance production numbers for public performance
- One-on-one applied studies in various areas, including acting, business, directing, musical theatre, playwriting, stage management, costuming, and design and technology
- Collaborative work with neighboring organizations such as Elmhurst Children’s Theatre, Green Man Theatre, The Summer Place and Wheaton Drama
- Internships at such places as Chicago Shakespeare Theatre and First Folio Productions
