When his parents are kidnapped, what’s a 10-year-old boy to do? Ask the cats, naturally—because Charlie Ashanti can speak to cats. Lionboy sets Charlie on a rescue mission that involves a floating circus, a pride of lions, and corporate intrigue. International theatre company Complicite developed the tale for the stage, based on the inventive trilogy of Zizou Corder, the pseudonym for the mother/daughter writers of several young people’s novels.
