Navigating the COVID Job Market

The COVID-19 situation has created a challenging job search environment. In response, the WCPE has partnered with Nadia Whiteside, a successful career coach, to develop a virtual College to Career Job Search Boot Camp.
The program will provide students with the skills needed to successfully navigate the new marketplace. The Boot Camp will be delivered in three, 90-minute sessions followed by a capstone Mock Interview session with the Boot Camp moderator.
Each session will be held via Zoom during protected hour from 11:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Session 1—April 14
What is your brand? Learn how to develop and identify your professional brand and effectively communicate in a short elevator pitch or value statement.
Session 2—April 21
Effective Networking! Learn how to connect with professionals by building a robust network using tools like LinkedIn and informational interviewing.
Session 3—April 28
Nailing the application process and job interview: Understand the applicant tracking process and successfully preparing for the job interview to make yourself stand out.
Capstone—Individual Mock Interviews
Mastering the Job Interview: Students will hold an individual 15-minute session to gain personal feedback on how to improve their job interview performance. Sessions will be held from April 30–May 15.
