Safety Over Labor Day Weekend

The following message was sent by the University’s COVID-19 Task Force to students, faculty and staff on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2020:

Dear Bluejays,

Welcome to Elmhurst University! We hope the start of this new and historic academic year finds you well and feeling excited about what lies ahead. Whether you’re just joining campus this fall or finishing your academic journey, it’s everyone’s first term at Elmhurst University.

Much has changed since classes were last in session, and your health and safety remain our top priority. All of us must continue to make responsible choices during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic—choices that safeguard everyone in our campus community.

We are asking you to take all the necessary steps to limit your exposure to COVID-19 over Labor Day weekend. Continue to wear your mask—even if you’re outside, if you’re in a group. Continue to physically distance. Avoid crowded indoor events if possible. Wash your hands and use hand sanitizer. We are requesting the same of our faculty and staff members.

We’re all in this together. By keeping ourselves safe, we protect one another and increase our chances of continuing to be together in community this fall.
