Prepare for a Career in the Law
As a pre-law student at Elmhurst, you will meet regularly with the pre-law advisor as early as your first year of college. Your advisor will guide you through the entire process of applying to law school, including preparing for the LSAT, requesting recommendation letters and writing personal statements.
We also offer an array of courses that introduce you to concepts or skills relevant to the law school curriculum. Beyond the classroom, our Center for Professional Excellence can help you connect with a legal internship that will help you develop your skills.

Accelerated Law Degree Program
Thanks to a partnership with the Northern Illinois University College of Law in DeKalb, Ill., Elmhurst students have the opportunity to earn both a bachelor’s degree and a law degree in just six years.
Students who are accepted into the Accelerated Law Degree Program enter NIU after completing their junior year of undergraduate study at Elmhurst. They receive an Elmhurst degree after completing the first year at NIU, and their JD upon completion of the three-year law school curriculum.
