First Leap is a Career Exploration and preparation program that is available for all first-year students to discover more about a field of interest. It combines both classroom and professional site observation/informational interview based on each student’s academic interest.
The first day and last day are spent in the classroom, while the other two days are for student observations/informational interviews. The classroom portion involves interactive exercises and guest speakers in an effort to engage students in career preparation and exploration process. We also spend a significant amount of time preparing students for their site visits/informational interviews.
The program is highly competitive and each of the 25 students admitted has been through an interview process to ensure they are a good fit and committed to a four-day experience.
