Throughout human history, religious traditions have inspired and justified acts and attitudes ranging from the heroic to the heinous. The role of religion and religious literacy in society has been a contentious issue for centuries, and significant in how it shapes public and private discourse. Aria Razfar, a professor in the College of Education at the University of Illinois Chicago, will host a public conversation at Elmhurst U. on what critical religious literacy is and why it matters.
