Popular American music standards will take the spotlight on Wednesday evening, June 27, as the Elmhurst College Summer Band hosts its second free outdoor concert on the Mall.
“American Salute” will begin at 7:00 p.m. on the Brune Patio, behind the Frick Center. The program will feature American favorites and patriotic music.
Composed of students, faculty members, local music teachers and community members, the Summer Band performs a variety of music for the outdoor performances. James Hile conducts the band, and Professor Emeritus Judy Grimes is the guest conductor. Professor Gayle Bisesi is the featured guest artist who sings with the band.
Attendees are encouraged to arrive early and bring their own lawn chairs, blankets, drinks and a picnic, and to enjoy the sounds of summer.
