The Weigand Center for Professional Excellence offers guidance and support as you refine your career goals and prepare to enter the workforce.
Check out our career timeline, which provides a useful roadmap for the suggested steps to take each year. And take advantage of our resources:
- One-on-one meetings with staff help you develop your career goals, craft a strong résumé and conduct effective interviews
- Seminars and workshops on setting a professional path, searching for internships and jobs, and networking with working professionals. Don’t miss our career exploration course (CPP 299 Professional Foundations of Career Development), which provides valuable tips on choosing a career path.
- ECCONNECT powered by Handshake provides information on “What to do with a major in _____?” and links to online assessment Focus2 which looks at interests, values, and work preferences and identifies potential careers that best fit your criteria. There are additional links to O*NET and salaries.com to further explore career options. This is also a place to post your résumé and get information on career-related skills.
- For alumni: Graduates have lifelong access to career services, whether you’re just starting out, considering a career transition or looking for new challenges in your field. Our alumni services include interview workshops, networking events, career counseling, résumé assistance, job search and interview tips.
