Jeremy Hlinak

Visiting Lecturer, Graphic Design
Department of Art

For the past 25 years, Jeremy has been a creative lead on projects for some of the largest brands in the world including Nike, Coca-Cola, Google, McDonald’s, Harley-Davidson, Budweiser, Nissan, and more. He has led creative teams of all sizes, and has mentored hundreds of designers over two decades as they begin and grow their creative careers.

Jeremy’s art and design work has been shown at various galleries and events including at the Art Institute of Chicago, Typeforce, the STA-100, and the Design Museum of Chicago. His design work has won multiple design awards, has been published in various design magazines, and has been included in the Chicago Design Archive.

He has been a guest lecturer and portfolio reviewer at institutions like Columbia College in Chicago, Lesley University in Cambridge, the Hangar Interactive in Costa Rica, Lebanese University in Beirut, and the podcast for the Chicago Graphic Design Club.

In contrast to the output of today’s digital world, Jeremy’s current work involves using analog materials and hands-on graphic design; hopefully creating something beautiful enough people can remember and be inspired by.

As an instructor, his focus is to continue the legacy of Elmhurst University in the community, and use his experience to encourage students of all backgrounds to find their creative voice. Jeremy holds a BFA in design from the University of Illinois at Chicago and an MFA in design from the Savannah College of Art and Design.
