Samuel Rush

Sam Rush teaches ENG 105 and 106 at Elmhurst University. He completed his undergraduate work at the University of Illinois at Chicago (B.A., Communication) and his graduate work at DePaul University (M.A., Writing, Rhetoric and Discourse). Through his classes, Rush strives to help students find their “voices” in academic and real-world situations, working to convince them that they have a lot to offer both discourse communities.

Given Rush’s experience in teaching, college admissions, academic advising and athletics administration, he also has interest in non-cognitive factors that impact student retention. Some of the readings, assignments and discussions in his classes reflect this interest.
