Evans Afenya

Dr. Afenya is an internationally known applied mathematician who has received a number of National Science Foundation grants for cancer research (mathematical modeling of cancer and cancer treatments). He has numerous research publications in the mathematical biosciences. He has presented his research in international forums in the Americas, Europe and Africa. He is the founder and director of the Elmhurst College Summer Academy in Mathematics and Science, which strives to increase the number of women and students of color in science and mathematics.
