Rabbi Steven Bob, Jewish chaplain at Elmhurst University and rabbi emeritus at Congregation Etz Chaim in Lombard; and longtime Elmhurst U. chaplain H. Scott Matheney lead this year’s Abraham Joshua Heschel Lecture, which is named for the prominent Jewish philosopher and theologian, and focuses on the Jewish faith. The event also will celebrate the lecture’s endowment by the family of Abner Ganet, an Elmhurst trustee emeritus and a civic leader who dedicated the later part of his life to Holocaust education.
