On Saturday, June 6, Elmhurst University will become the center of cycling during the annual Elmhurst Cycling Classic, a racing event that draws professional and amateur bike racers from around the country to test their skills on a course that encircles the University campus.
Elmhurst U. student LaQuinna Rodriguez, a rising senior majoring in music business, will sing the national anthem at 3:50 p.m. to kick off the Pro Elite Women’s race.
The daylong Cycling Classic also features a food & expo center, a beer garden, a Community & Family Fun Ride along the racecourse; and the Elmhurst Twilight Mile, a one-mile running race that takes place after the bike races.
The Elmhurst Cycling Classic begins at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, at the Start/Finish line on Prospect Avenue across from Wilder Mansion (211 S. Prospect Ave.). Peak spectator times are from 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., when the Pro Elite fields race around the course. Admission is free and all are welcome. For more information, visit elmbike.com.
As a sponsor of the Elmhurst Cycling Classic, Elmhurst University supports events and programming that enable our students to engage with their community and thrive as adaptive leaders.
