Bishop of Joliet Diocese to Give Bernardin Lecture on Feb. 6

As bishop of the Joliet Diocese since 2011, the Most Rev. R. Daniel Conlon has served in a number of national leadership roles.

He was chairperson for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee for the Protection of Children and Young People, and currently serves as the conference’s liaison to the National Catholic Committee on Scouting.

Bishop Conlon will present “Did Jesus Really Intend to Establish a Church?” on Feb. 6 when he gives this year’s Cardinal Joseph Bernardin Lecture at Elmhurst College.

Bishop Conlon previously has served as a member of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on Marriage and Family Life, and he currently is a member of the Canon Law Society of America and the Mundelein Seminary Advisory Board.

The Cardinal Joseph Bernardin Lecture will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6, in the Founders Lounge of the Frick Center. Admission is free and all are welcome.
