Demonstrating its dedication to the education of adults and returning students, Elmhurst College recently earned national recognition for its outstanding adult undergraduate degree programs.
Abound: Finish College, a college guidance system for undergraduate degree-seeking adults, has recognized Elmhurst for addressing the issues that matter most to adult students: affordable options for attending college, access to professors and campus professionals, support services, and accelerated paths to graduation.
“We’re thrilled to recognize Elmhurst College for its commitment to adult students,” said Tyson Schritter, chief operating officer for Abound. “Elmhurst has proven itself a leader in advising students from start to finish. This school has demonstrated expertise and a strong willingness to further educate the 34 million Americans who do not have an undergrad degree.”
Colleges recognized by Abound as Top Adult Undergrad Degree programs meet several criteria in each of three main areas: accessibility, affordability and acceleration. Each school is evaluated based on a key analysis of transfer-credit assessment data, the career services it offers, its accessibility of campus resources, the breadth of engaged learning opportunities and more. Schools are invited to the guidance system network only after interviewing with the Abound team and distinguishing their dedication to their students’ education.
Elmhurst offers several options designed specifically for adult students, including bachelor’s degree programs in business administration, applied psychology and information technology, and undergraduate certificate programs in cyber security and GIS.
“Elmhurst has a longstanding commitment to providing a first-class education to adult students,” said April Edwards, vice president for academic affairs and dean of the faculty at Elmhurst College. “We’re proud to earn this recognition from Abound, and we see it as a welcome affirmation of what we’ve always known: that Elmhurst is a leader in meeting the needs of degree-seeking adults.”
