On Tuesday, April 14, Elmhurst College will host ELSA-PALOOZA 7, an annual celebration of the Elmhurst Learning and Success Academy (ELSA) and its post-secondary educational offerings for young adults with developmental disabilities.
This year’s event will honor the Class of 2015 and celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the ELSA program. ELSA-PALOOZA 7 will feature an ELSA student showcase, musical performances by the Elmhurst College Jazz Band and The Naturals, and a raffle to benefit ELSA scholarships.
ELSA-PALOOZA begins at 5:00 p.m. with a tour and information session. The showcase and performances begin at 6:00 p.m. The event will take place in the Founders Lounge of the College’s Frick Center.
The raffle includes the chance to win a three-day Lollapalooza pass or an iPad Mini. Tickets are $3 for one ticket, $5 for two tickets, $10 for five tickets and $20 for 15 tickets. Raffle tickets are available for advance purchase online.
A four-year certificate program, ELSA provides a full-time, post-secondary educational experience to young adults with cognitive disabilities. The program emphasizes academics, work experience, and social and recreational experiences. On-campus housing is available for some ELSA students. Upon completion of the ELSA program, students are better prepared to hold a job and live with greater independence in the community or with their families. Federal financial aid is available for students who qualify.
