Organized and hosted by the University’s Music Business Student Union, the concert will feature three bands as opening acts and a fourth as the headliner. Most of the bands’ members include Elmhurst U. alumni or current students.

The concert will be held in in R.A. Faganel Hall beginning at 4:00 p.m. Doors open at 3:30 p.m. Admission is free; a $5 donation is suggested. The concert lineup includes:

  • “Polly on The Wall,” a Chicago band, at 4:00 p.m.

  • “One Night Only,” an alumni band, at 6:00 p.m.
  • “Arrowleaf,” another alumni band, will headline the concert at 7:30 p.m.

The Music Business Student Union, or MBSU, organized every part of concert, including technical aspects like lights and sound, vendor relations, designing merchandise, creating the set list and schedule, and promoting the event through social media and fundraisers.

The Music Business Student Union hopes to achieve a number of goals with this event. The biggest are to promote music business education at Elmhurst U., to raise money for music business-related scholarships, and to enhance and grow the program.

The concert also provides participating music and music business students with relevant, hands-on opportunities to apply their knowledge and skills, giving them a professional edge as they prepare for their careers. Specifically, they gained experience in preparing for auditions and live performances, managing artist relations, handling technical and production needs, event planning, and selling merchandise, tickets and concessions.

The Music Business Student Union at Elmhurst University sponsors concerts, conferences, events and speakers, on and off campus, to promote further education for students preparing for careers in the music business industry.
