As an artist and member of the famed 1960s Chicago art collective called The Hairy Who, Suellen Rocca helped write an extraordinary chapter in the story of American art.

As curator of Elmhurst’s acclaimed art collection, she helps share that story with art lovers. Elmhurst’s collection has been called one of the best gatherings of work by artists of the Chicago Imagist School. It includes work by Ed Paschke, Jim Nutt, Roger Brown and Rocca herself. In this conversation, Rocca spoke about her twin roles as artist and curator.
