The annual Spring Invitational Juried Student Exhibition highlights the accomplishments of Elmhurst College art students doing exceptional work.
“This exhibit has a wide variety of student work, including an unusual series of digital photos of nature, figurative sculpture created with wax, and many well-conceived Cubist studies,” said Suellen Rocca, curator and director of exhibits for Elmhurst College.
The juror is Javier Chavira, an artist and professor of art at Governors State University who was one of the three artists featured in the Elmhurst College Fall 2017 exhibition Works on Paper. “I look forward to his selections of the prize winners and his discussion of his choices,” Rocca said.
The annual Spring Invitational Juried Student Exhibition runs until April 21 in the Founders Lounge of the Frick Center. A reception for the artists will be held on Wednesday, April 11, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with comments by Chavira at 5:00 p.m. The reception and exhibition are free and open to the public.
