The faculty artists of Elmhurst College are highly qualified educators who are active as professional artists. Because they are working artists themselves, they understand the joys, and also the frustrations, inherent in making art. They will help you reach your goals by creating a supportive atmosphere where you can explore and take creative risks.

Mary Lou Stewart
Professor & Director of Art Education
Mary Lou Stewart has been a practicing artist and teacher for more than 20 years. Her paintings and drawings have been shown in over 90 juried art shows. She has been represented by galleries throughout the nation, and numerous private collectors and museums have purchased her work.
Dustan Creech oversees the sculpture and printmaking concentration of the art major. He has been included in numerous solo and group exhibitions both nationally and internationally. He has received numerous awards and art grants.
Visiting Assistant Professor
Brad Kisner is a graphic designer/art director with more than 20 years of experience who brings his branding passion and expertise to the classroom. His design work has been seen in both national retailers and regional theaters. Kisner oversees the College's graphic design concentration.
Richard Paulsen is a working artist whose art is frequently shown at the N.A.B. Gallery and other shows locally. His work is included in many collections, including the Art Institute of Chicago, the Chicago Public Library, and the Illinois Art Council.
Adjunct Faculty, Curator and Director of Exhibitions
Suellen Rocca is a practicing artist whose work is included in major museum collections. She is the curator of the Elmhurst College art collection and director of the Art Exhibition and Visiting Artist Program at Elmhurst College. Rocca teaches painting, drawing and design courses in the College's Department of Art.
John Pitman Weber
John Pitman Weber, co-founder of the Chicago Public Art Group, is one of the nation’s best known public artists. His paintings, murals, concrete relief, mosaic, and carved brick works have appeared internationally, and his published writings are highly respected in the art world.
