Major in Data Science (B.S.)

Data Science is a uniquely multidisciplinary field, integrating concepts and methodologies from mathematics, computer science, business and a wide range of applied domains.

The Data Science major gives students the opportunity to learn the mathematical theories and statistical foundations that power data analysis, while also gaining experience with software, programming languages and tools currently used by data scientists. This coupling of theory and practice equips graduates with the technical and critical thinking skills needed to succeed in data-driven careers.

Program Information

The data science major consists of twelve required courses and two elective courses. Some elective options may require additional prerequisite courses.
