Kathleen Scanlon’s area of specialization is adult health nursing. In addition to her master’s degree in medical-surgical nursing, she possesses a master’s degree in media communication. She is credentialed by the NLN as a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE). She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, as well as the Illinois Nurses Association.
Her current areas of interest include adult health nursing, health assessment, pharmacology, safety, infection prevention/control, evidence-based practice, and the use of simulation in nursing education.
