Elmhurst College and its Board of Trustees have named alumna and longtime Trustee Barbara J. Lucks the new chair of the Board of Trustees.
Lucks, whose term became effective July 1, is the first woman to serve as the College’s board chair. As a member of the Board of Trustees since 1991, Lucks has served in several vital roles, including as chair of the Development Committee and, most recently, as vice chair of the Board. An alumna from the Class of 1973, Lucks is an attorney with a practice in Columbus, Ohio.
“I’m honored to have been chosen to lead the trustees at a time when the College is accomplishing so much,” Lucks said. “I look forward to working with the faculty and administration to expand our opportunities even further.”
Lucks succeeds Kenne Bristol, whose five-year service as chair concluded this year. Bristol will remain active as a member of the Board.
“Barb brings substantial experience and a commitment to the College, its history and its present needs and opportunities,” said Elmhurst College President S. Alan Ray. “The Cabinet and I very much look forward to working closely with her in her new role.”
