First-year students can now apply to Elmhurst University for the 2022 Fall Term using the Common App, the latest step the University has taken to make its admission process more accessible and in tune with students’ needs.
Using the Common App allows students to apply to multiple colleges and universities by filling out one standard form. Elmhurst joins more than 900 member institutions spread across all 50 states and in 20 countries.
“The Common App is a well-known application vehicle that many students, both domestically and internationally, are familiar with,” said Christine Grenier, the University’s senior director of first-year and international admission. “Our goal is to make the process both accessible and easy for students by providing an additional option for applying to Elmhurst University.”
The partnership with the non-profit Common App organization follows a string of actions to open up higher education—and the opportunities it affords—to more students.
In 2020, Elmhurst piloted test-optional applications, giving students a choice about whether to submit standardized test scores. That option remains in place for all applicants.
The University also launched several scholarship competitions, including the American Dream Fellowship Competition for first-generation college students.
