Simulation Center

The Elmhurst University Simulation Center at Elmhurst Hospital has been a critical learning tool for students since it opened in August 2014.

Through an innovative collaboration between the University and Elmhurst Hospital, undergraduate and graduate nursing students have access to a state-of-the-art Simulation Center.

Through interactive learning, students build their clinical knowledge and skills through active, hands-on clinical scenarios. This 4,600-square-foot laboratory and classroom space, located at 155 E. Brush Hill Road in Elmhurst, creates health care environments that represent inpatient, outpatient and community settings.

Using simulation, students have the opportunity to practice protocols and procedures and experience intense scenarios safely and without the risk of harm to patients. Simulation and simulated learning enhance critical thinking and confidence—and allow for reflection and evaluation of best practices outside of the high-stakes, high-stress clinical environment.
