Elmhurst University Project Management Program Gains National Recognition

Elmhurst University’s 6-year-old master of project management program has been recognized as one of the top 25 in the nation, according to GreatBusinessSchools.org, a free online guide for prospective business students.

GreatBusinessSchools.org  researched accredited, reputable colleges and universities across the country in its search for the country’s best project management programs.

Bruce Fischer, director of Elmhurst’s master of project management program, was quick to give credit for the honor to the program’s faculty.

“The key to our success is in our faculty, which is very, very good,” he said. “They are successful project managers who are passionate about sharing their knowledge with our students to help them create a great career in an exciting field.

“This recognition indicates that our pragmatic, results-oriented program is already being recognized nationally.”

The University’s project management program is offered in a flexible format of online and in-person classes. Fischer said the format helps attract students from all over the U.S. and beyond. He’s recently been contacted by a company in China about training its employees, and a program graduate in Boston is recommending his employees take the program online.

“It is the presence of our faculty and former students in the professional milieu that is the best form of advertising for our program,” Fischer said.

GreatBusinessSchools.org evaluated programs based on four criteria: affordability, salary potential, national reputation and student reviews. The organization’s editors used data from College Scorecard, the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System, Niche, and U.S. News & World Report to compile the list.

The project management recognition adds to a recent string of accolades for the University. In May, Intelligent.com named the University’s graduate program in data science one of the top 15 programs in the country. It also was recognized as the nation’s top STEM-designated program. In April, three graduate programs in health care were included on U.S. News & World Report’s prestigious Best Graduate Schools list, and the University was named to Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society’s 2020 Transfer Honor Roll. In a separate U.S. News & World Report list, Elmhurst ranked No. 6 in the Midwest for undergraduate teaching and No. 13 for innovation.
