Ph.D. in biomolecular structure and biophysics from Purdue University
Dr. Duy (Zoey) Hua’s love for liberal arts education, a small college campus and structural biology brought her to the department in the fall of 2019. Prior to joining Elmhurst University, Dr. Hua completed her postdoctoral appointment at the University of Chicago and a two-year visiting professorship at Oberlin College.
Her research focuses on understanding how the conformational landscape of the Fab fragment of antibodies is affected by the sequence diversity at the hypervariable regions. To accomplish her research goals, Dr. Hua and undergraduate researchers will employ a variety of computational and biochemical techniques. Dr. Hua currently teaches the Biochemistry series and a chemistry course for nursing professionals. She finds joy in working with students, listening to their stories and becoming their advocate.
Dr. Hua received her Ph.D. in biomolecular structure and biophysics from Purdue University and her B.A. in chemistry from Ohio Wesleyan University.
