Scholarships for Students in Accelerated Programs Academic Year 2015-2016
Elmhurst College recommends that prospective students begin to plan early for financing their education. Financial aid for degree seeking students consists of three types: scholarships, grants and loans. Elmhurst College believes in recognizing and rewarding excellence with scholarships that are based on prior academic achievement. A detailed description of these scholarships can be found on the second page of this publication. Scholarships and grants are types of aid that do not have to be repaid; loans must be repaid. Students may also wish to investigate tuition reimbursement programs offered by their employer.

Students while enrolled in an accelerated program, paying on a per credit hour basis, may receive scholarship money for Fall, Spring and Summer terms. Summer scholarship consideration extends only to students during the accelerated, cohort portion of their academic program. If the student chooses to pursue a second accelerated program in the future, the scholarship can only be used for the Fall and Spring terms of that second program, not the Summer term.

A 3.00 cumulative Elmhurst College grade point average and full time enrollment is required for renewal. To be considered, completed applications must be received by July 15 for applicants enrolling in the fall semester and by December 1 for applicants enrolling in the spring semester. Note: Up to two awards are given per scholarship each year.

Students must identify their legacy relative on their Application for Admission in order to receive the award. This scholarship cannot be used in the summer term.

Some Things to Keep In Mind
Part-time, non-degree and second degree-seeking students are not eligible for Elmhurst College scholarships.

The Office of Admission and School for Professional Studies makes scholarship decisions at the time of admission based on the credentials and supporting materials you submit when you apply.

Scholarship renewal is based on Elmhurst College cumulative grade point average per designated requirements for each award.

Full time students, while enrolled in an accelerated program and paying on a per credit hour basis, may receive aid and scholarships during the fall and spring terms only.
